DIVISION 16
FIFTH DISTRICT NORTHERN REGION
Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is an all volunteer arm of the United States Coast Guard serving the boating public on the Jersey Shore with operations directed by Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet. Division 16 has been located on the Jersey Shore since 1958 and performs services such as conducting Safe Boating Classes, Vessel Safety Examinations, Maritime Observation Missions (formerly known as Safety Patrols) and Marine Dealer Visits. The Division also enjoys the fellowship of its members. Auxiliarist's undergo advanced training that is received via the Auxiliary Member Training Department so they are able to assist and augment the Coast Guard, by participating in non-military, non-law enforcement programs.
Division 16 is comprised of
volunteers dedicated to safer recreational
boating and consists of six Flotillas: Flotilla 16-01, Gull Island; Flotilla
16-03, Toms River; Flotilla 16-05, Brick;
Flotilla 16-07, Manasquan Inlet; Flotilla 16-08, Shark River; and
Flotilla 16-10, Metedeconk River.
We are always looking for interested individuals to join us.
You could find yourself saving lives, protecting the environment from polluters, guarding our shores from
terrorists, training the boating public to boat safer and much more. That’s our job – 24 hours a day, 365
days a year. That's life in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We don't just train. We train and perform.
