States Coast Guard -- Home site for the U.S. Coast Guard with lots of general information including a brief
history of the Coast Guard, information about recruiting and the CG Academy, access to
news releases on such things as boat recalls, a massive "Fact File" with
information on just about anything you can think of concerning the Coast Guard, and the
latest Commandant's Bulletins.

Commander Atlantic Area -- From its
home in Portsmouth, Virginia., the LantArea Command Center coordinates law enforcement and rescue missions that occur on the high seas
across and outside district boundaries. LantArea also manages international exercises such
as UNITAS and Tradewinds, and programs such as the International Maritime Law Enforcement
Team (IMLET) and Multi-National Maritime Interception Operations in the North Red Sea and
North Arabian Gulf. The Atlantic Area includes the First, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, and
Ninth Coast Guard Districts.
Fifth Coast Guard District -- The Fifth Coast Guard District office is located
in Portsmouth, Virginia. From these administrative offices, all Fifth District units are
managed and supported. The boundaries of the Fifth Coast Guard District encompass the
states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and parts of New Jersey and
Pennsylvania, including: Group Atlantic City, Group Philadelphia, Activities Baltimore,
Group Eastern Shore, Group Hampton Roads, Group Cape Hatteras, and Group Fort Macon.
NavRules Online -- The complete text
of the International and Inland Navigation Rules is available online in Adobe AcrobatTM format. The
website also provides answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the navigation
rules, a full set of NavRules exam questions, and a form for submitting questions about
the navigation rules.
Office of Boating Safety -- The
purpose of the Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety is to minimize the loss of life, personal injury, property damage
and environmental impact associated with the use of recreational boats, through preventive
means, in order to maximize safe use and enjoyment of U.S. Waterways by the public.
Office of Coast Guard Auxiliary -- A
United States Coast Guard site which is designed to aid in finding information about how
the Coast Guard interfaces with the Auxiliary through the Office of
Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Local Notice To Mariners -- The Local
Notice To Mariners is the primary means for
disseminating information concerning aids to navigation, hazards to navigation, and other
items of marine information of interest to mariners on the waters of the United States,
it's territories, and possessions. These notices are essential to all navigators for the
purpose of keeping their charts. Light Lists, Coast Pilots and other nautical publications
up-to-date. These notices are published weekly. They may be obtained free of charge.
Fifth District Local Notice To Mariners
-- The Local Notice To Mariners includes information concerning aids to navigation, hazards to
navigation, and other items of marine information of interest to mariners for vessels
operating in ports and waterways of the Fifth Coast Guard District.

Serving the uniform needs of the men and women of the Coast Guard and Coast Guard
